Hand weaving is a traditional rug-making technique that weaves the wool strands to build up the rug rather than using an artificial backing found in many modern rug manufacuring techniques. Woven rugs sit beautifully on the floor, and the weave creates a highly attractive, authentic patina across the rug (see close-ups in our pictures).
